The Arjuzanx National Park located in the Landes in the South West New Aquitaine region, is the largest French wintering site for Common Cranes in Europe.
Classified as a National Park on September 2, 2022, it covers an area of 2,205 hectares, out of a total of 2,673 hectares that constitutes the site of Arjuzanx.
Direct access to the Natural Park and the lake
Access to the Nationale Park is via a private road that starts from our houses and takes you to the lake on its wildest edge. You will find there small sandy accesses to swim in transparent and soft water. You can also use our canoe to take a ride on the lake or go windsurfing, sail on catamaran or practice paddle...
Motors are prohibited.
You can walk around Arjuzanx lake (about 2h30) or around two lakes (Arjuzanx Lake and Commanday Lake) by bike. Just next our house are 35kms of mountain bike trails also beautiful for walks. In summer you also can ride on horses around the lake.
Between November and February 25,000 common cranes nest in the National Park and pass morning and evening just above our property. It is an unforgettable daily show. You can make a reservation to go to the private part of the Park at the top of a 15m tower to admire the departure or the return of the cranes at the beginning or end of the day with a view of the dormitory lake of these great migrants.
